Everyone. Let's step back and take a look at what CMT has to work with ... there's a reason he replaced CMD, let's remember what that is.

The foundation of this 2022 football team should be the 2018 recruiting class. Let's take a look at what is left of that base.

The big wins were Gervin, Henderson, and Gillison. Only Henderson is left, and he's out injured.

Slade is still on the team but he's out injured.

Day, Kline, Dowell, Jefferson, Williams, Ohonba, Jackson, Douglas, Gissinger, Boatang, Mallory, Major, Isaia, Alexander, Z Slade, Warinner all gone.

Nailor in the NFL. Collins only person from recruiting class playing.

Opportunity for CMD's recruiting class from 2019 to fill holes on the roster.

Stars of the class: Dobbs, Barnett, Fulton, Morgan all gone. Hunt not playing. Others gone.

A few serviceable players remain but mostly depth pieces, Duplain, Samac, Thorne, Mosley, Wright, Hansen, transfer in Reed. Really four guys worthy to play in Duplain, Samac, Mosley, Reed. Hansen solid rotational player. Thorne clearly not the guy unless he has a RB like KWIII keeping defenses honest. Otherwise he looks like Tyler O'Connor.

CMD's last recruiting class from 2020 again had a couple serviceable but mostly depth pieces: Grose, Barrow, Halladay. Snow out injured. Pietrowski injured. Kim, backup QB. Dunn depth piece. That's it. Three guys playing and Grose is out of position.

What does this mean, year after year, CMT has to close significant player talent gaps with cast offs from other programs. Some wins with KWIII in 2021 and Windmon in 2022. But most others you can see their limitations and why they transferred, e.g., Brule, Speed, Kimbrough, Williams on defense. Horst, Berger, Broussard on offense.

There was no way this 2022 ever had a chance to win unless by some miracle the coaching staff could figure out a way to mask the talent deficiency. So far, it has not. And yes, they do deserve some blame for that. But in the end, this 2022 CMT team did not have a chance to be competitive out the gate.

There are however promising 2021 (Sophomore, RS Freshman) and 2022 (True Freshman) classes. These guys need experience without exposing them to losses in confidence.

The offense also needs a QB. And unfortunately, so does the defense. Not sure those guys are on this team or ready currently to make water to turn in to wine and sneak out a few will wins.
