With a step back and viewing the landscape, I have the following observations:

  1. CMT exercised profoundly bad judgment and did not fully appreciate the level of scrutiny he would be subjected to in his position.
  2. The university must terminate him, even though i don’t believe the accuser based upon published evidence and her own words.
  3. Race relations just got worse. As more comes out, it will appear to some that he was led on and retaliated against when he ended the lucrative consulting deal with her at 10k a session. It will be a white woman duping a black man.
  4. ESPN knew of the accusations in July, but somehow have nothing to do with this. The are suing MSU to release detailed records of the case - they did so well over a month ago.
  5. The current season and the entire roster is in jeopardy - how do you like the portal now? How can you keep the team and recruiting class together?
  6. Landing a star coach quickly is necessary - Haller should have already undertaken this months ago. It has to be a Prime type of hire where the entire culture is turned upside down to shake out all the fleas. The new guy has to be beyond reproach, not Urban Meyer who likes to play grab ass too.
  7. All future and current coaches should be required to sign a code of conduct and ethics statement every year that clearly states that any violation will result in termination forfeiting all rights to further compensation and that the code supersedes all prior written contracts. Clearly some could say you can’t make me sign it but then how does it look to the public?
  8. MSU needs an AD who understands how a multimillion dollar business is supposed to operate and not a former cop. Haller is done.
  9. While there is no Rooney Rule in college football MSU must be fair in its hiring process.
  10. A total revamp of MSU’s policies in retaining vendors is needed and every vendor should be required to sign the code of conduct and ethics. This is common for most large companies.
As a final thought, with the details of the “call” coming out where she said she could hear every stroke (why didn’t she hang up, how did it get to this?) until he finished in his upscale hotel room in Naples is why you never want to take a black light to a hotel room. Hope they use hot water there at was likely at the Ritz Carlton in Naples. Word to the wise, bring lysol and your own towel to cover your pillow case to ANY hotel room. Such a sad period to be a Spartan.
