Need some final advice in filling out your bracket? I crunched the numbers (so you don't have to) and I am here to help. Which upsets are most likely? Who will make the Final Four and who will cut down the nets? I talk about all of that here:

I really like MSU's odds to reach the Final Four. One could make the argument that MSU is the only team in the South above No. 8 Louisville that did not limp to the finish line. If they can harness that same energy and sharpness that we saw in the final eight games of the season, I feel really good about their chances.
The South could actually be a pretty wild bracket. I think No. 8 Louisville has a great chance to upset No. 1 Auburn, and I think there is a reasonable shot that one or both of No. 13 Yale and No. 12 UC San Diego win in the first round. I also think No. 11 North Carolina could advance to the Sweet 16. I thought that before they demolished San Diego State in the First Four.
That said, I can easily see a scenario where Yale beats Texas A&M, Louisville beats Auburn, and Michigan somehow beats UC San Diego. This would open a path for the Wolverines to make the Regional Final, and MSU better be there to meet them. Some people relish the idea to get to beat Michigan in such a high stakes game. I am not one of those people. I don't think my heart could take it. Fortunately, the actual odds tell me this isn't likely:
I hope the numbers are correct.
Happy March Madness Eve, for those who celebrate.
