I am going to be on a airplane during my assigned time for parking selection on Monday. Per the email and snail mail from the Spartan Fund you can have them pick for your parking if you are not available at the time you have been assigned. Before I called over today to make arrangements for them to do this for me I looked on the parking selection website. I was shocked by how few parking spaces were available in zones 1 and 2. When I called I asked some questions and learned a lot which I am sharing below.
First there have been over 550 spots in zone 1 already assigned to Huntington Club, Suite Holders, Ambassadors and Champion Circle club members, not to mention the spots for the Athletic Department, University brass and the press which are all in zone 1 or 2. Those actually selecting start at about donor # 550 however those pre assigned have the option to change their assignment and they take up all the early times on Monday morning. According to the web site there are approximately 325 spots available for selection in zone 1 and another approximately 300 spots in zone 2 for those not already pre assigned. The long and short of it is if your donor # is over 900 you probably won't get a zone 1 parking pass and if your donor number is over 1200 you probably won't get a zone 2 pass. From past years that means that some Directors Club may be in Zone 2 and a lot of the Honorary Coaches will fall to Zone 3 which will push everyone else down line from zone 3 to zone 4.
As the Boy Scouts say Be prepared.
