I've been watching (and loving) ESPN Bases Loaded most of the day.

[ESPN Bases Loaded is ESPN's special channel for NCAA Baseball Tournament highlights and updates. They go from game to game in a hurry. It's really cool stuff.]

They switched from the game you were watching to the Dallas Baptist game, to the Houston Baptist game. They were showing all games.

They showed bits of action from NC State vs Stony Brook, and Virginia vs USC, and St John's vs Oklahoma State, and Texas' comeback win against Oregon State, and Rice vs someone. Every game. It's great stuff.

But guess which game they completely freaking ignored all night tonight?

Maryland 3, Ole Miss 1 (F).

I saw one :05-second update on that game, heading into the ninth. But nothing else. There's a chance I might have missed one or two updates while flipping over to the NHL game, but I'm pretty sure that I know a World Wide Leader directive when I see one.

As if ESPN thinks preventing a small viewership of a few hundred thousand fans from seeing highlights of Maryland vs Ole Miss is going to somehow help the SEC.

They're such dorks at ESPN. I love the Bases Loaded feature. But I hate that they try to shape our minds.

I remember my dad telling me stories of how Nazi Germany cut radio transmissions of Joe Louis' KO victory over Max Schmeling as it was taking place. Nothing like that could happen today, could it? Maybe the Soviets pulled something similar a few times. But Big Ten vs SEC? It's not THAT serious is it?

Apparently it is.

What ESPN did tonight was just a tad short of censorship.

They did the same thing with their SportsCenter "coverage" of bowl games on Jan. 1.

What a bunch of dips.
