Former MSU defensive end Itayvion Brown was dismissed from the MSU football team last month. The move follows an incident on March 17 that resulted in two weapons charges, a felony and misdemeanor, which his lawyer entered a not guilty plea to during a District Court hearing Friday morning in East Lansing. He also faces a pretrial meeting in Ann Arbor next Monday likely as a result of violating his bond for assault charges in the tunnel at Michigan Stadium last fall.

As a condition of his felony weapons charge, the same that Mazi Smith was charged with, he had to forfeit the weapon which was already seized by police. It was never made clear if Smith forfeited the weapon during his own legal proceedings.
