The Top 25 teams, for the most part, didn't lose. But their games were collasal struggles. We were close to waking up tomorrow with NC State ranked No. 4 in the country.

To their credit, most of these teams pulled out victories, but the wow is it hard to harvest victories.

No. 4 Michigan, won 34-27.
No. 5 Clemson won in OT against Wake Forest
No. 6 Oklahoma lost to Kansas State
No. 7 USC beat Oregon State, 17-14
No. 8 Kentucky beat Northern Illinois, 31-23
No. 9, whoever that is, was idle.
No. 10 Arkansas lost to Texas A&M
No. 11 Tennessee beat No. 20 Florida 38-33
No. 12 NC State beat UConn, 41-10

No. 15 Oregon beat Washington State, 44-41
No. 16 Mississippi beat Tulsa 35-27
No. 17 Baylor beat Iowa State, 31-24

No. 22 Texas lost, 37-34, to Texas Tech
No. 25 Miami lost to Middle Tennessee State, 45-31

**

The only Top 25 teams that won comfortably against Power Five teams were Alabama, Ohio State, Utah and Washington.

Wake Forest, Kansas State, Oregon State and Northern Illinois scared the hell out of Top 10 teams yesterday.

It's Georgia, Alabama and everybody else. There used to be a big gap between Miami, FSU, ND, Nebraska and the rest back in the mid-1980s through the mid-1990s, but I've never seen it like this.

NO ONE wants to be No. 5 in the nation right now, because no one is.
