Statement from Michigan State men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo:
“Jeremy [Fears] underwent surgery this morning and is resting comfortably. While there is much we still don’t know, my focus is supporting Jeremy on his road to recovery.”
Spartans Illustrated has confirmed with an MSU spokesperson that Fears was shot in the leg and the injury is not life-threatening.
The shooting was first reported by Chris Solari.
