MSU has offered and it looks like they want to add a JUCO OL to the mix. Never bad idea IMO. Though I do wonder if this is a bit of a reflection of how the staff feels Dennis Finley is progressing.
With that said, it is really early to start projecting Baldwin to MSU. With JUCO a ton of things have to happen for things to eventually take place. So many different academic hurdles to overcome. Remember that David Hedelin was on the MSU commit list for months.
MSU academics often make it hard for kids to get in mid-year. That will eliminate some kids from considering MSU because they might be able to enroll early elsewhere.
I think the biggest thing to take from Baldwin offer is MSU wants a JUCO OL in the class. Baldwin is originally from Connecticut. This is a situation where being in Big Ten East with PSU, Maryland and Rutgers can't hurt.
I will follow up with Baldwin and see if I can get some of these questions answered. Baldwin wants to take some official visits before he does anything so I would not put him on a commit watch or anything. In addition, MSU will obviously evaluate how some guys like Beedle and possibly Cole Chewins are doing on OL this fall and possibly re-evaluate what direction they are gonna go.
