Been reading all of the contract stuff since the season ended. Here is a great perspective----I heard an ESPN radio discussion last fall that truly explains. Not sure the coach, but a one or two year wonder, not Tuck, but signed a big contract and they discussed. The bottom line was/is if you wait, and he has another big season---u cannot touch him. If he has a poor season (for whatever reason) maybe u don't want him. But that is the decision process---risk----reward.
So you have to weigh it. Tuck had a great K-dog season---pay him? Wait and see--and probably lose him? His pedigree suggests he is a keeper, so... You decide?
This to me made a ton of sense---not the ultimate decision, but the decision-making dilemma.
Go Green!
