Men’s Golf Starts Spring Season at Watersound Invitational

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team tees off the spring 2025 campaign this week, playing in the Watersound Invitational, hosted by Florida State at Sharks Tooth Golf Course in Lake Powell, Fla.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament starts on Monday, Feb. 17 and runs through Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The Spartans tee off on the 10th hole at 9 a.m., playing alongside Kentucky and Clemson.

The 12-team field includes six ranked among the top-25 in the country in the latest NCAA Rankings: host Florida State, Alabama (24), Clemson, Georgia Tech (14), Kentucky, Michigan State, Mississippi State (18), Navy, NC State, Notre Dame (25), UCLA (12) and Vanderbilt (11).

ABOUT THE SPARTANS
Michigan State competed in four events during the Fall, with top-five finishes in two events … The Spartans opened the season with a fourth-place finish among 15 teams at the Folds of Honor Collegiate and then followed that up with a fifth place finish among 10 teams at the Canadian Collegiate Invitational … Junior transfer Caleb Bond appeared in all four tournaments during the Fall, carrying a 73.33 scoring average with two top-20 finishes … The Spartan lineup to start the spring is young, with a junior transfer, two freshmen and two sophomores … Freshman Julian Menser and sophomore Lorenzo Pinili also played in all four Fall tournaments … Menser carried a 74.75 scoring average over 12 rounds, while Pinili finished with a 76.00 average … Freshman Drew Miller posted a 74.83 average in six rounds and sophomore Lucas Acevedo appeared in one event, shooting a 20-over par 233 at the Windon Memorial Classic.
