Michigan State will host Nebraska transfer defensive tackle Ru'Quan Buckley on an official visit this weekend, he tells Spartans Illustrated. He arrives in East Lansing on Saturday.
Allen Trieu was the first on the report.
The now 6-foot-5, 305-pound Buckley redshirted in 2021, appearing in one game and recording one tackle. He did not see game action in 2022.
In 2023, he played in eight games on the defensive line and recorded one tackle and one quarterback hurry. Late in the season, he transitioned to the offensive line. However, Michigan State is interested in him as a defensive lineman.
Buckley is a Wyoming, Michigan native and attended Godwin Heights High School. He was a high-three-star defensive end recruit out of high school in the 2021 class. Buckley had well over 20 scholarship offers (including Michigan State).
