Michigan State Track & Field Heads to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Invitational​

EAST LANSING, Mich. – After split meets last weekend, the Spartan track & field teams will reunite to head back to Ann Arbor for the Michigan Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 9.

The majority of the athletes in action will be sprinters and throwers.

The Michigan Invitational will feature Midwestern teams, including Akron, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Michigan and Toledo.

The field events will get underway with the women's weight throw at 10 a.m. The Spartans will be led by Elle Adrian, who won the weight throw title at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Jan. 18 with a personal best (21.39m). Val Pallett also captured the weight throw title at the Wolverine Invitational on Jan. 11. In the women's shot put, Margaret Jones, Jessica Stieb, Elly Finch and Rylan Finstrom will be competing.

In the men's weight throw, Dalton DeBeau, Josh DeVries, Xavier Griffiths, Colby Morlock, Brendan Vander Meer and Connor Williamson will all be in action. In the men's shot put, Dillon Morlock joins DeBeau, Colby Morlock and Williamson in action.

The running events will get started with the men's 60m hurdles prelims. Logan Allen will get the Spartans started in the second heat. Amani Nuels and Kaia Scheffler will be in action in the women's 60m hurdles prelims.

Michigan State will also have athletes competing in the 200m, 400m and 600m races.
