I love how the guys that we have gotten in the past have worked out. I finally learned after seeing L. Bell going against our linebackers in blocking drills as a freshman that I should never judge a recruit based on analysts, but rather by the coaches evaluation. That being said, there are some serious flaws in the uofm fan base logic (oxymoron) when it comes to their current recruiting. Essentially they are saying since getting highly ranked players did not work, doing the opposite must be the ticket. Then they actually use our success as an example. However, they are completely blowing by 2 critical facts.
1. Of the 2 star recruits that we landed, 8 of the 12 since 2010 verballed AFTER October and 6 verballed after December 1st. This came with extensive game evaluation IN PADS (including Waynes, Bell, and Dennard).
2. Completely dismissing the 4&5 star recruits over the same time span.
At one point I thought they may have found the bottom with their program. Now I'm not so sure. The dialogue has changed significantly in record time from "pay him whatever it takes because he is a magician" to "I'll wait as long as it takes but give him a break because he is no magician."
It's incredible...
