Just saw this story in Front Office Sports and would absolutely die to see the Red Wings/Tigers/Pistons do this.

The NBA's Phoenix Suns and WNBA's Phoenix Mercury are ditching Bally Sports Arizona, saying they weren't paying media rights fees. As we know, Bally is bankrupt. I've been anti-RSN since Sinclair bought all of the "Fox Sports" regional networks. Can't watch any local teams on YouTube TV, Hulu, or Sling, and it's wildly expensive to pay for on FuboTV. I'm also younger and think cable TV is a scam. So I don't know where everyone else lines up here. But I'd love for Detroit's teams to do something like this.
Suns/Mercury fans can:
- Watch all games locally on KTVK, KPHO, and KPHE.
- Watch all games for *free* on the teams' branded apps.
Both teams instantly tripled their reach. More access = better for fans IMO.

Phoenix Suns, Mercury Ditch Cable for Free TV, Streaming
The shift from cable to free broadcasts could cost the Suns tens of millions in guaranteed money per year, according to ESPN
