First of all of course it is a tragedy that someone died in the river.
But I was up on campus for the Maryland basketball game and I noticed that a large portion of the Re Cedar river is literally all fenced off now!
And not even with someone attractive wrought iron fencing just chain link fencing.

I am in my early 50s
By talking to someone who is just turning 30 at the gym the other day and he's of a generation that feels the Red cedar River should have fence and railings all along the campus blocking the river.

The fact that no one can jump in the river now in a traditional red cedar plunge because of people's feelings still being sensitive over something that happened in October is a little disheartening to me..

We can be sad about a tragedy and still let others enjoy their lives.

My intent is not to offend anyone but
I feel very strongly about this.

We have a beautiful campus and part of that beauty is the river and I hate to see you have to be fenced off or limit access to it.

This is my opinion this is how I feel.
