Spartan football season has been a huge disappointing, I truly was hoping we'd at least beat Michigan and that didn't happen ... As a very politically moderate person, I'm disappointed with the overall state of politics in this county, especially the election result (I hate Trump, do not like Kamala at all, either)... even more importantly, dealing with my mom's dementia and my stepdad is disabled, they're in Traverse City and I live thousand of miles away, plus parenting, and transitioning from my place in Arizona back to New Jersey (where I spend more than half my time). Trying to really focus on some positive distractions and not really finding much! My girlfriend and I are on the rocks, too, but we both have a lot going on. I'm thinking about picking up some old Spanish textbooks and delving back into Spanish - I had 4 years at MSU, I should have minored in Spanish, not sure why I didn't. Also, I wanna do more writing.

Yesterday I had an incredibly stressful day at work. My staff missed an important deadline (ultimately I'm responsible) and in the beginning of the day I just felt overwhelming doom. Fortunately, I pulled through and absolutely kicked ass and it didn't impact me at all, but could have. Hung out with the girlfriend last night then came home and went to bed. Woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep.

What do you guys do when you feel overwhelmed? Any tips?

Heading to Buffalo NY tomorrow to see relatives then going to Traverse City. Looking forward to seeing my folks and my friends up there. I might head down to MSU for the Rutgers game.
