When On3 split off I decided to stay with SI. I thought I would, but didn't, miss Jim Comparoni and his content. I definitely didn't miss the message board. Now with this merger of the 2 sites, I'm not so sure I need this anymore.
I actually spend more time on the national Rivals site and frankly, find the non-sports stuff more interesting and entertaining. There's some pretty funny posters and threads over there...not that I would miss it all that much...given a little time.
My subscription expires in July. I'd like the changeover to occur before that so I can, at least, see what the new site and MBs will look like. Frankly, recruiting, star rankings, visitor updates and Xs and Os are not that interesting to me anymore. I've said it a million times, NIL and the portal have ruined my day to day college sports interests. I just watch the games now.
I subscribe to The Athletic and the FREEP. I get a fair amount of content over there. The Athletic has some thoughtful threads that I participate in. Not many Spartan ones, but certainly Tiger and Lion threads.
What's everyone else thinking? I don't want to be a martyr...oh woe is me type. Who's staying? Why? I'm sure I won't be missed....at least after the first week. I got a month or so to see what's going to happen.
