The Tigers' Gulf Coast West team, which featured guys like higher round draft picks Kingston Liniak and Parker Meadows at points over the season, already won the Gulf Coast League.

Toledo in AAA and West Michigan in Low A start their playoffs today. Toledo is already up 3-0 early over Durham tonight, with significant prospects SS Willi Castro with 1 RBI and CF Daz Cameron with 2 knocked in

No, team success in the minors doesn't translate necessarily into impact players for the big club but it's probably better than the alternative...and extra games, ABs, innings, etc. for guys who *are* prospects is never a bad thing, especially in heightened situations. Overall, I think it's been a successful year on the farm for Detroit. Not spectacular, not amazing, but on balance pretty good with more positive developments than the contrary.
