Yesterday’s jail sexing of U of M’s Vaunted Down Brown Defense was an absolute display of beauty. The Vaunted Don Brown Defense got exposed and blown up live on TV for all to see. It’s not a complicated scheme, their D. It’s a very aggressive front seven that is basically a A/B gap run blitz, with aggressive edge rushers that ATTEMPT to make you a one dimensional team. Thrown in man to man press coverage with DB’s that water ski on your receivers and you have your hands full. It will look great against teams that are average or below in BOTH phases of the game. It looks even better against one dimensional teams. However, if you are above average in both, the over pursuit nature of the D becomes it’s Achilles heel. OSU torched that D because they did BOTH well, and the scheme TRIED to adjust to zone coverages and it snowballed like an avalanche. That’s why last year we were also kicking their ass before the rain helped them, despite thier assertions otherwise. Putting up 62 points on Michigan’s D is as bad as them losing to Appalachian State.

It’s Groundhog Day with that program and It will never change. Ever. However, it is amazing how much that fan base is hated around the country and how sick 99% of college football fans are of ESPN and Harbaugh. I’ve been listening to a lot of sports radio that is National in scope, and I can honestly say there’s NO love lost for U of M, Harbaugh, thier fans or anything related to scUM. NO BIG championship appearance. NO CFP. The spirit of that fan base today is what an amputated spirit looks like. They have spent obseen amounts of money on coaches, facilities, global trips, recruiting camps and more. They have also had a carasoul of coaching changes and renting QB’s every year for the past 4 years. And guess what? Not one Title and not one championship. It’s groundhog Day.
