Scott commits to MSU, an update of Strengths, weaknesses, and his famous Mom

JORDAN SCOTT BIO:

Position
: Wing Forward
Height/Weight: 6'7, 191 pounds.
Home: South Lakes High School, Reston, Virginia
Final Three Schools: Maryland, Virginia Tech, and Michigan State.

SCOTTS RECRUITING NEEDS:
  1. I want a place that works me; I'm big on hard work.
  2. A school that makes me better on and off the court.
  3. They have to have good food.
  4. How a team conducts practices

STRENGTHS

1. The most translatable part of Scott's game is his three-point shooting. He's not a pure shooter but made almost 36% of his attempts on high-volume (7+) attempts per game with a quick release.

2. He is an active wing rebounder.

3. On the defensive end, he has active hands and a nose for the ball (2.6 steals per game).

4. He understands how to play within the team concept, has a good feel for the game, and lets the game come to him.

5. Scott is a willing passer and reliable decision-maker with the ball in his hands (2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio in UA Rise play).

6. He likes to take smaller defenders into the mid-post, where he can utilize his size to shoot over the top of them.

WEAKNESSES

1. He's undeveloped physically, can struggle to play through contact, and doesn't always assert himself as a top prospect should.

2. Scott doesn't put much pressure on the rim.

3. He shows very little creativity or playmaking as a ball handler.

4. He's farther away physically than most four-star prospects and is going to require some patience before he can build up his body to play through the level of contact he's going to see at the next level.

5. His upside is more long-term rather than immediate.

JORDAN SCOTT'S FAMOUS MOM: Christy Winters-Scott
