Former Duke star Kyle Singler's cryptic Instagram post saying he fears for his life has drawn an outpouring of concern and support from former teammates and others.

Singler, 36, spoke slowly and was shirtless in the short video, which was posted Tuesday morning.

"I have been mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example," Singler said. "And I fear for my life every day. And people in my community make me look out as if I'm going to be someone that's going to be a problem and make things difficult for people when I'm only trying to be helpful.

"I feel like I have a certain way about myself and strength and purpose that does not get valued or get treated properly."

The video cut off abruptly after about 90 seconds. It was shared more than 1,200 times in the 12 hours after it was posted.

Several NBA players responded.

Kevin Love of the Miami Heat wrote, "I love you Kyle. Hit me whenever. Please."

Veteran guard Isaiah Thomas said: "Here for you bro! Always and forever."

Philadelphia 76ers center Andre Drummond added, "You aren't alone brother! I'm here for you."

Many of those who responded included Duke men's basketball and the NBA in their comments, hoping to get their attention.

Singler was on Duke's 2010 national championship team and was named Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA tournament.

He posted another video Tuesday afternoon. He repeated grievances from the first post but seemed more stable.

Singler was the 33rd pick in the 2011 draft and started his career overseas before playing in the NBA. He played three seasons for the Detroit Pistons, who drafted him, and was on the All-Rookie second team in 2013. He played parts of four seasons for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Duke basketball, the Thunder and the National Basketball Players Association did not immediately respond to messages from The Associated Press.

Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

FOOTBALL FBS blanket waiver suspends school limit on number of football official visits

"At the request of the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision Oversight Committee, the NCAA staff issued a blanket waiver suspending the school limit on the number of official recruiting visits available to FBS members for hosting football prospective student-athletes. The waiver is effective immediately and is in place for football's current recruiting cycle (April 1, 2024, through March 31, 2025).

The committee requested the waiver to provide schools additional flexibility to address the impact of recent changes in NCAA legislation (immediate eligibility for undergraduate four-year college transfers and unlimited official visits for prospective student-athletes) and the intercollegiate environment.

Prospective student-athletes can visit a school as many times as they like for an unofficial (self-financed) visit, and a school can host a prospect for one official visit. Since December 2022, FBS programs have been able to host a maximum of 70 official visits for football prospects from April 1 to the following March 31.

The committee will continue to review football official visits and assess the intercollegiate environment to determine whether to introduce legislation to modify football's official visit limit. The Division I Football Championship Subdivision Oversight Committee is scheduled to discuss institutional limits on official visits Monday."

Jack Del Rio to resign from Wisconsin after he struck street sign, broke fence in alleged drunk driving arrest

Former NFL head coach Jack Del Rio will resign from his role on the Wisconsin football staff after being arrested early Friday on citations for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Del Rio, who joined the Badgers as a senior advisor in August, allegedly struck a street sign with his vehicle, broke a fence and came to a rest in a yard, according to an incident report from the Madison (Wis.) Police Department.

“He’s going to move forward and he’s going to resign and move on,” Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell said during a news conference Monday. “But it’s a tough situation, decisions that all of us have to be able to take full responsibility for. So, that’s what Jack will do and we’ll continue to move forward.

“We’ve got a few weeks left in the season, a lot of things to continue to fight for and nobody wants to take away from that, whether it’s me or Jack or anybody within our football program. We’ll move forward from that.”

Robinson left USC after the 1982 campaign to make the jump to the NFL, where he took over as the Los Angeles Rams’ head coach for Ray Malavasi. He went 75-68 over his nine seasons with the Rams and reached the NFC championship game twice. He was fired after the 1991 campaign, which marked his second straight losing season.

His 79 total wins with the organization were the most by a single head coach in team history up until last month, when current head coach Sean McVay picked up his 80th career win.

After his second run at USC, from 1993-97, Robinson also served as UNLV’s head coach from 1999-2004. He went 28-42 there and reached a single bowl game in his six seasons with the Rebels. He also briefly worked as the school's athletic director.

Following his retirement from coaching, Robinson served as a national college football analyst, worked as a development officer with the USC athletic department and worked as a consultant with the LSU football team with former coach Ed Orgeron. He was with the program when they won the national championship in the 2019 season, too.

Robinson was inducted into both the College Football Hall of Fame and the USC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.

Tom Izzo on His Potential Successor: "I'm going to call Mateen Cleaves, Steve Smith, Magic Johnson, and Draymond Green

Tom Izzo doesn't know when he's going to be done coaching at Michigan State, but when he does he's going to consult with some of the former great players in the history of the Spartans' program about who his potential successor may be.

"I got no interest in getting out of it," Izzo said Monday on the College Hoops Today Podcast. "When I'm done, I'm going to talk to Mateen Cleaves, Steve Smith, Magic Johnson, and Draymond Green. I don't want to lose the culture that I've seen for 40 years as a GA on up. I think it's being lost somewhat now in college sports. Not just for me, but the players who come back and are a part of things. At least here at Michigan State, it's important. It may not be that way at other places."

Izzo has been the Spartans' head coach since 1995 and first joined Michigan State's program in 1983 as an assistant.

The Spartans are currently ranked 35th in the ROTHSTEIN 45 and will next face Kansas on Tuesday night in Atlanta as part of the Champions Classic.

The grand architect of Michigan's sign-stealing operation is now reportedly coaching the Wolverines' top remaining recruiting target in the 2025 class.

According to a report from CBS Detroit, Connor Stalions is now a member of the coaching staff at Belleville High School, the home of five-star 2025 Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood.

Stalions joined Belleville at the end of the regular season, the report stated. Since his arrival, he has been calling offensive plays since the playoffs started and has assisted with the school's defense and special teams.

"Connor...he's been a great tool for us in enhancing how we attack opposing defenses," Belleville head coach Dejuan Rogers told CBS Detroit.

Belleville is Stalions' second prep coaching stint this fall. He previously served as the defensive coordinator and interim head coach at Mumford High School, which finished its season with a 1-8 record.

Stalions will be in the press box on Friday for Belleville's regional finals game against Detroit Catholic Central, the top-ranked team in the state of Michigan.

Michigan has had a very public pursuit of Underwood, an LSU commit, in the past few weeks. Some reports have stated the Wolverines are willing to offer an NIL package of at least $5 million to keep the No. 1 prospect in the country in-state. Now, Stalions will be coaching Underwood for the remainder of his high school career.

OTHER SCHOOLS: BREAKING REPORT: Deion Sanders in play to replace Mike Norvell at Florida State (FSU currently 1-9, and both Coordinators just fired Sunday)

Deion Sanders has transitioned from one of the most electrifying players in the NFL to one of the hottest head coaches in college football seamlessly.

With three games left in the regular season, “Coach Prime” has the Colorado Buffaloes in contention for the College Football Playoff with a (7-2) record. Sanders inherited a Colorado program last season that had won just a single game in 2022, and while the Buffaloes only won four games in 2023, they suddenly became one of the most polarizing stories in all of college football.

Coach Prime tapped into the transfer portal this offseason, overhauled the roster, and just like that, Colorado has a legitimate shot of making the College Football Playoff.

On the other side of the country, Mike Norvell and the Florida State Seminoles — where Sanders dominated under head coach Bobby Bowden in the late 80’s — are falling off a cliff.

Norvell looked like he had Florida State trending in the right direction, and after a (13-1) finish last season, the Seminoles entered the 2024 campaign with legitimate national championship aspirations.

But with three games left in the college football regular season, Norvell’s team has been beyond bad. The Seminoles currently have a (1-9) overall record. They rank dead last of the 134 FBS college football teams with 13.3 points per game. On the defensive side of the ball, they can’t stop the run or pass, and have forced just three turnovers on the season.

On Sunday, Norvell cleaned house, firing both coordinators and other key assistants. While it seems like the FSU brass is preparing to give Norvell another season to right the ship, one ESPN analyst believes there’s a scenario where Sanders comes back to Tallahassee and takes over as the Florida State head coach.

RECRUITING Live Thread: Detroit Catholic Central vs. Orchard Lake St. Mary’s

I’m out here at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s tonight for the Eaglets’ homecoming versus Detroit Catholic Central. Of course, Michigan State has three commits in the 2025 class (athlete Bryson Williams, linebacker Charles White and tight end Jayden Savoury). Offensive lineman Antonio Johnson is another 2025 kid of note.

DCC has a couple of interesting prospects in tight end Jack Janda (has MSU offer) and offensive/defensive lineman Benjamin Eziuka, offensive/defensive lineman, offensive/defensive lineman Danilo Guberinich (Western Michigan commit) and athlete Samson Gash (no MSU offers for those three yet, but they’ve visited/camped and have offers from other schools).

The Eaglets and Shamrocks are tied 14-14 in the second quarter.

I’ll drop tweets throughout the game and then hope to get interviews afterward

FOOTBALL Dr. G&W's Week 11 Recap (Against All Odds): Pumpkin Spice

With the Spartans on the second bye week of the season, there is not much new on the MSU front. So, this week's piece focuses more on the national landscape. I also had a chance to update my tiebreaker formulas to make them much more rigorous in this new division-less landscape.

As a result, I have a clearer view of what some of the potentially very contentious scenarios will look like. I fully expect that fans are going to get a but spicy in the SEC and in the Big Ten, depending on how things finally shake out.

Here I discuss why things look good for Alabama, bad for Clemson, and might get interesting for Penn State.

RECRUITING Michigan State 2025 QB commit Leo Hannan talks 'amazing' official visit

Michigan State brought in seven class of 2025 official visitors this past weekend, including four current commits at the time. One of those currently committed players who returned to East Lansing was three-star quarterback Leo Hannan.

Hannan, who currently attends Servite High School in Anaheim, California, was the first prospect to commit to the Spartans' 2025 class. He announced his pledge to MSU on April 22.

Following this past weekend, Michigan State's 2025 group grew to seven current commitments, as three-star offensive lineman and fellow California native Drew Nichols became the most recent pledge to the Green and White.

Spartans Illustrated caught up with Hannan after his trip to mid-Michigan to get his thoughts on the experience.

"Their culture and attitude," Hannan said when asked what stands out the most about MSU's program. "They talk about an attitude of 'low ego, high output,' and that’s how you build a family attitude and eventually win championships."
