I am sure 6-7 is not playing well with the fans and barely breaking 1800 yards passing in 13 starts, including 4 really bad teams has me thinking he has one more stop as a grad transfer.

MSU had material QB issues this year, but he would not have made much of a difference this year, and we likely don’t get Chiles if he stayed as a three year starter.

Hope he can find a home in the offseason. The Auburn fans will be unbearable for him if he stays.

Michigan State is set to resume Big Ten action tomorrow when the Spartans take on Penn State in University Park. Start time is set for 4 p.m. ET on the Big Ten Network, giving fans a doubleheader offering with the men's game.

Michigan State men's basketball head coach Tom Izzo knows his team has been battle-tested this year and the Spartans were prepared for another hard-fought game Saturday.

The Hall of Famer had high praise for an Indiana State program that may eventually punch a ticket to March this season.

Indiana State came to East Lansing with just one loss on its record, and gave Michigan State a good game, but the Spartans ultimately walked away with an 87-75 victory.

Spartans Illustrated has confirmed that Michigan State men's basketball head coach Tom Izzo and assistant coach Doug Wojcik will travel to Indiana tonight to watch 2025 four-star power forward Trent Sisley play. The coaches will fly out there after the Spartans' game versus Indiana State on Saturday afternoon. Jake Weingarten of stockrisers.com was first to report.

The 6-foot-7, 200-pound Sisley ranks as the No. 63 overall prospect in the 2025 class and appears to be a priority for Michigan State. He has visited MSU multiples time, including most recently in October.

@SpartanHoops_DK takes an in-depth look at how Michigan State can replace the impact of freshman guard Jeremy Fears Jr., who was shot in the leg on Dec. 23. While Fears' injury is non-life-threatening and is without a clear timeline, he will likely miss the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.

Fears is expected to rejoin the team today (Friday), but it is unclear if he will be on the bench on Saturday.

“Jeremy [Fears] underwent surgery this morning and is resting comfortably. While there is much we still don’t know, my focus is supporting Jeremy on his road to recovery.”

Spartans Illustrated has confirmed with an MSU spokesperson that Fears was shot in the leg and the injury is not life-threatening.

Time for it to be a total year where being a Spartan brings nothing but good times. Hockey becoming nationally recognized, tennis, soccer, cross country, volleyball, and even wrestling getting great results, both basketball teams seem to have solved early season woes and should make strong runs, and Smith was a winning hire that should make us at least competitive in his first year. So I am proclaiming 2024 to be The Year of the Spartan! BTW, I do indulge in green martini's around the holidays!

On Friday, Michigan State redshirt senior wide receiver Tre Mosley announced his decision to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Mosley, a Pontiac, Michigan native, had completed five seasons of college eligibility, so eligibility was up regardless. I have confirmed that with Michigan State.

Mosley recorded 126 receptions for 1,464 yards (11.6 yards per catch) and 10 touchdowns in 43 games with the Spartans.

He was known as one of the best leaders on the team, and served as a weekly captain for Michigan State multiple times throughout his career.

Additionally, defensive tackle Jalen Sami and linebacker Aaron Brule, who are both also out of college eligibility, have declared for the 2024 NFL Draft as well.

Breaking. Illini star wing Terrence Shannon Jr. arrested / suspended. Statement from the school.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill.– On Wednesday, the Douglas (Kansas) County District Attorney issued a warrant for the arrest of Terrence Shannon Jr. Per policy, the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) has suspended Shannon from all team activities, effective immediately.

Shannon is charged with rape, as defined under applicable Kansas law. The alleged incident occurred while Shannon visited Lawrence, Kansas, to attend the Illinois at Kansas football game, played on the evening of Friday, Sept. 8, as a spectator. He was not in Lawrence on official University business, nor was he a member of the University’s travel party.

Shannon traveled to Lawrence today, where he presented himself to authorities. He posted bail and is returning to Champaign.

The University and DIA take allegations of sexual misconduct seriously while respecting due process and the presumption of innocence afforded through the legal system.

“The University and DIA have shown time and again that we have zero tolerance for sexual misconduct,” Director of Athletics Josh Whitman said. “At the same time, DIA policy affords student-athletes appropriate levels of due process based on the nature and severity of the allegations. We will rely on that policy and our prior experiences to manage this situation appropriately for the University and the involved parties.”

DIA and Urbana campus officials have been aware of a Lawrence police investigation into Shannon since late September but, until Wednesday, had yet to receive actionable information. Shannon’s arrest triggers the DIA student-athlete misconduct policy. Under that policy, Shannon has been immediately suspended from all team activities. Any change to Shannon’s status will be communicated in a timely manner.

Van de Winkle joins MSU from Loyola University-Chicago and bring 6 starts and 13 appearances from the 2023 Season. He's a Macomb, MI native.

Michigan State has received a commitment from James Madison transfer long snapper Kaden Schickel. He played in all 13 games for JMU this past season, and has a strong connection with MSU kicker Jonathan Kim.
