Before any decision is made about this coaching staff it is imperative that our new President immediately begin a search for a new AD. The right AD, one with deep industry ties, a strong reputation and a serious Rolodex full of the names of all the important Agents and players in the world of professional college athletics is an absolute necessity! That is if we hope to keep our football program relevant nationally.

Without this position filled ahead of any real discussion about how we get our football team, and Athletics at MSU in general, back to perennial top 15 players nationally, the likelihood of navigating our way POSITIVELY through any number of scenarios is a long shot at best.

With MSU being a Nike school, having a perennial top 10 hoops program, with a coaching legend at its helm, and a recent history of financially supporting our revenue programs at a top 20-25 spending clip, we have a great story to tell and the resources to make the type of offer to acquire a top notch AD. That AD will then have that same level of resources to make the moves that can keep our revenue programs rolling, after a (hopefully) brief but continued (1 more year likely) down year in football. Not that an even quicker turnaround isn’t possible, just consider Minnesota if you doubt it can be done quickly.

Get to work President Stanley, your most important hire to date needs to happen sooner than later.
