Chris Evans to UM and what happened to MSU
If you noticed, I have not been talking about Evans for a while and that is for a reason.
The information I received was that Evans called up Michigan State back in March and said he was ready to commit. The word I got was that Coach Dantonio told him that he would not accept commitment until he came up to campus with family. Evans did not get up to East Lansing and all of a sudden Abdul Adams committed and MSU figured they have other needs that they would like to address. Evans shifted his focus, UM offered and the rest is history.
You can see how recruiting can be a fluid situation for some players. Evans was a player MSU liked, but he was not a player who they would hold a spot for no matter what like Josh King or Auston Robertson. Kind of like the situation with that RB from Chicago a few years ago that ended up at Pittsburgh. Dantonio would not accept his commit until he came up with family and in the interim the Spartans realized they were a serious player for Madre London.
You can see how much Dantonio prioritizes players that take the time to get on campus and build rapport with staff, players and other recruits.
Should be fun to see how Evans does at UM especially compared to Abdul Adams.
