Bottom line for now: stay tuned. Info will be posted here as soon as it becomes available.
1. The Seattle Area alunmi association is taking the lead in organizing a sail-gate experience targeted at the green and white clad game goers. No specific details are yet available, but the decision makers are aware of Spartan Mag and they will be sure to share with Maggers all the details as they become available. They are still deciding the scope of the event and they will definitely tap in to the critical mass represented on Spartan Mag.

2. The East Lansing based ‘big’ alumni association no longer hosts and organizes big (like 1000 person) events except for the big bowl games. They are allowing local alumni association groups to take the lead for events like this, or for the Arizona State game a few years back.

3. It sounds as if the MSU. Men’s soccer team plays at UW the evening before the football game. FYI

4. . There are many options if you choose to do it on your own for a sail -gate. One outfit that got back to me provided the following information:

Thank you for your email and interest in our Chinook's DAWG Boat for the Michigan State v. Huskies game this fall.

Unfortunately, I won't have any per person pricing information until mid/late July and boat tickets go on sale after that. Each ticket includes free parking at the restaurant, round trip transportation & a complimentary beverage of choice (beer, wine, spirit or non-alcoholic) inside the restaurant before departure.

Our boat, the Goodtime II holds 400 people & the largest group we reserve on a single order is 12. So if your group is approx. 40, you are looking at 3-4 separate boat reservations. We pull away from the dock in front of the restaurant 90 min before kick-off. It's a 45min ride to Husky Stadium, so we dock 45 min ahead of game time. At the end of the game, our passengers have 30 min to return to the boat before we leave for the cruise back to Chinook's.

If you're looking for a smaller, more private charter, I suggest calling Argosy cruises on Lake Washington (206) 623-1445. They might be able to help you or steer you in the right direction for exactly what your group is looking for.
