I was able to confirm with John Lovett's high school coach that his player did take an official visit to Baylor over the weekend. I don't know how that is going to affect things with Michigan State moving forward, but situations like this one are exactly why no one should get too excited about a silent verbal. Recruiting is the wild wild west during the weeks leading up to NSD. His high school coach seems to think that Michigan State is still in a good position to land Lovett, but did confirm to me that Lovett is still looking at this point. Some of it may depend on whether Michigan State is still interested. Dantonio doesn't take commitments, silent or otherwise lightly. That said, Lovett is the guy that Michigan State tabbed as its best option at running back.
