Along with many of you, I have endured an adult life of arrogant asshole behavior and juvenile ridicule from my UM counter-classmates, business associates, and *friends of my generation. I've spent years pining for their demise. I have come clean and admit that it was in part because I honestly didn't believe we could be where we are today. I thought that looking back to the 50's and 60's was our glory period.
Today, I find myself not really giving a shit about what's going on in Ann Arbor(for the first time I can remember). I think I'll take the high road from here on out and simply maintain a mindset of indifference(albeit a newer height of disrespect). I think it may actually enhance this profound pleasure I find in the experience of our being in the place this leadership and staff have brought us to. They deserve it to be all about them and the team, and know they are much respected and appreciated for this yet unfinished accomplishment, irrespective of anyone's demise or failure.
Let us enjoy the Rise of an Empire!
