Just thought I would check here to see if anyone has any experience or input towards an Italy trip I am about to book. My wife and I are celebrating our 10 year this summer and are looking to go to Italy sometime around the end of September-early October. We plan to fly into Venice and stay for a couple days and end the trip in Positano for a few days of relaxing before flying home from there. In between we have not decided where to spend the other days between Rome, Florence or any other location. I don't really want to mess with a car so I was planning on doing the trains.
Any recommendations or thoughts in general on hotels, trains, things that we absolutely cannot miss, etc?
